Greenhouse Effect or carbon dioxide emission By Mochalova E. Nezhmedinova S. Shalimova K.
In another words – Global Warming
In another words – Global Warming Global warming is sometimes referred to as the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is the absorption of energy radiated from the Earth’s surface by carbon dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere, causing the atmosphere to become warmer.
Gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect include: Water vapor Methane Nitrous oxide Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) Carbon dioxide (CO 2). A minor but very important component of the atmosphere, carbon dioxide is released through natural processes such as respiration and volcano eruptions and through human activities such as deforestation, land use changes, and burning fossil fuels. Humans have increased atmospheric CO 2 concentration by a third since the Industrial Revolution began. This is the most important long-lived "forcing" of climate change.

Reducing Carbon Dioxide Emissions The most effective way to reduce carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions is to reduce fossil fuel consumption. Many strategies for reducing CO 2 emissions from energy are cross-cutting and apply to homes, businesses, industry, and transportation.
Energy Efficiency • Improving the insulation of buildings, traveling in more fuel-efficient vehicles, and using more efficient electrical appliances are all ways to reduce energy consumption, and thus CO 2 emissions. Energy Conservation • Reducing personal energy use by turning off lights and electronics when not in use reduces electricity demand. Reducing distance traveled in vehicles reduces petroleum consumption. Both are ways to reduce energy CO 2 emissions through conservation. Fuel Switching Carbon Capture and Sequestration • Producing more energy from renewable sources and using fuels with lower carbon contents are ways to reduce carbon emissions. • Carbon dioxide capture and sequestration is a set of technologies that can potentially greatly reduce CO 2 emissions from new and existing coal- and gasfired power plants, industrial processes, and other stationary sources of CO 2
