The Greater Region (French: Grande Région, German: Großregion) is the area of 5 regions (4 countries) namely: Lorraine, Luxembourg, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Wallonia and the rest of the French Community of Belgium, and the German-speaking Community of Belgium

• ESCGR receives a mandate from the Summit of the GR (since 1995) and has also the right to self-referral (auto-saisine). Submits resolutions to the Summit GR. • Secretariat of the Summit of GR (since 2014)
• ESCGR (fr. : CESGR), (since 1997), Secretariat ESCGR is a part of the ESCGR: advisory organ, dialog with social partners • IPC (Interregional Parliamentary Council), (since 1986): advisory parliamentary assembly of the GR • Summit GR, ESCGR, IPC = 3 key pillars of the political architecture of crossborder cooperation
• 2015/2016: Presidentship of Wallonia in the frame of the 15 th Summit of GR • The ESCGR has 4 working groups (WG): Ø WG 1: Economy Ø WG 2: Transport Ø WG 3: Labour market Ø WG 4: Health and Silver Economy Each WG is led by a president. Ø Industry Booster Group
