Gorbachev Mikhail Sergeyevich
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (1931) - the 5 th Secretary general of the Central Committee of CPSS, the president of the SSSR, the owner of the Nobel Prize.
- 1953 Gorbachev becomes the member of CPSS. 1955 I graduated from law department of the Moscow university upon termination of which comes back to Stavropol. Works as the first secretary of the Stavropol city committee of Komsomol, is later it is elected the first secretary of regional committee of Komsomol. - 1962 M. S. Gorbachev becomes the first secretary of the CPSS Stavropol city committee. - 1967 in absentia graduates from economics department of the Stavropol agricultural institute and in 3 years it is elected the first secretary of the Stavropol regional committee of CPSS, and in 1971 - the member of the Central Committee of CPSS. - since 1978 Gorbachev - the secretary of the Central Committee concerning agriculture. - 1980 it becomes the member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of CPSS.
- On March 11, 1984 M. Gorbachev by 7 voices from 10 was elected the Secretary general of CPSU. Gorbachev develops ambitious the program which was called "reorganization" on reforming of the Soviet system. Three principles in domestic policy which were proclaimed by Gorbachev, were: publicity - big openness and availability of information and democracy - broader participation of citizens in political process; economic restructuring of the centralized and bureaucratic planned state economy. Gorbachev develops broad activity in foreign policy which basis it is disarmament.
