Global Warming Presentation By: Aaron Turcotte & Sean Hawkey
Global Warming Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's surface.
Greenhouse Effect Greenhouse effect is the release of additional greenhouse gasses from the burning of fossil fuels, which traps additional heat in the Earth’s atmosphere.
• • Global Warming is caused by the warming and cooling periods the earth goes through over a period of time. We are currently in the middle of a warming stage. It’s effects can be increased with the release of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. Some scientist believe that the affect of man has increased and/or sped up the effects of Global Warming.
• • The Greenhouse effects is a natural occurrence that happens on earth in order to maintain a stable, and livable environment, that regulates the earths temperature for life to exist. This effect can also be increased by the amount of “Greenhouse” type gasses that can help trap more radiated heat by the sun, than if the gasses were not present, increasing overall temperatures around the globe.
• The natural effects of global warming are increase in temperature during the warming period, which will eventually result in the melting of the polar icecaps, and higher sea levels which could trigger floods along the shores of the world. Human actions have increased the velocity of the effects which could result in worsening conditions.
• The Greenhouse effect in a natural occurrence which keeps the sun’s heat inside the earth, regulating Earth’s temperature, keeping the conditions livable. With the effect increased, it could raise the temperatures around the world. Increasing the sea level, ice caps melting and an uncomfortable living environment.
• • • Recycle paper, glass, plastic and aluminum cans. Use less heat and air conditioning Change Light bulbs (compact fluorescent light) Last 10 times as long as regular lightbulbs Drive less, burns off less fossil fuels, Walk or ride a bike more often if possible Buy environmentally friendly products Use less hot water, if possible Turn off lights, and household appliances (TV, Radio ect. ) when not in use. When you get a chance, plant a tree Spread the word to family and friends to do the things listed above ^.
