A review of cross-sectoral experiences in international relations • Mainstreaming: ”Applying a (…) perspective in all policies and programmes so that, before decisions are taken, an analysis is made of the effects of (…) ” (UN Development Report 1995) • Issue-linkage: Multilateral cooperation across different issue areas. (Conconi & Perroni, Journal of International Economics, 2002).
Emerging questions • What are factors associated with successful mainstreaming and issue-linkage? • How are processes in international organizations linked to institutional developments at the national level? • What kinds of outcomes do we wish to measure?
