Gimnazjum nr 3 w Tarnobrzegu im. por. Józefa Sarny
We begin to educate 2 X 1971 – The launch of Primary School no 5 in Tarnobrzeg; 376 pupils started learning at the school, they were taught by 16 teachers. 1 IX 1999 – The establishment of School Group no 3 in Tarnobrzeg; a school of a new type started to function alongside the primary school - Gimnazjum no 3 (Middle School no 3) – created as a result of the reform of education system; students of both schools learnt in one building.
We enter Europe 1 IX 2004 – The transformation of Group School no 3 into Gimnazjum no 3, our school started the realisation of the first educational project with foreign partners (in Italy, France and Romania) within the framework of the European program Socrates Comenius, its subject was The Earth, Water, Fire – People and Things
The school was given the name 2 VI 2006 – The school was given the name of lt. Józef Sarna; our middle school emphasised a historical link to its predecessor by taking over its patron and celebrating 35 th anniversary of the school existence.
We establish new contacts 1 IX 2008 – The new two-years educational project; the group of our foreign partners was expanded; our students worked on the project The Joy of Reading, The Joy of Creating together with teenagers from Portugal, Spain, Greece, Romania and Lithuania. 1 IX 2010 – Realisation of two other educational projects – the programme Comenius - School Partnership Projects (Energy – Society – Environment, Italy, Spain, Germany, Cyprus, Greece) and the project Comenius – Regio (Sport and Art as a Motive Force of School Development, partners from the Olt region in Romania and local institutions – the Municipality of Tarnobrzeg, Yacht Club Kotwica and the Cultural House of Tarnobrzeg).
Young people are keen on learning in our school 3 III 2015 – In our school, there are 552 between the ages of 13 and 16. 43 full-time teachers work there and 8 teachers are employed part-time. Our school provides professional care of two school counsellors and it constantly cooperates with a psychologist. Students are offered a broad curriculum as well as the opportunity to take part in extra curricular activities. Our students learn four foreign languages: English, French, Spanish and German.
We still look for new inspirations 3 III 2015 – At present our school works on two projects – Youth Without Borders (2013 -2015, Romania, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Estonia, Turkey) and The World with Mathematics. In search of new teaching methods of Mathematics and related subjects (2014 -2016, Poland - Italy).
