Paper 1: Listening • 25% of the total GCSE marks • 45 minutes including 5 minutes’ reading time • 50 marks Section A is set in German. The instructions to students are in German. Section B is set in English. The instructions to students are in English.
Paper 2: Speaking • • • 25% of the total GCSE marks 10 -12 minutes preparation time 70 marks The exam draws on vocabulary and structures across all topics. Task 1 – a role play based on one topic that is allocated by Pearson. (e. g reserving a table in a restaurant). Task 2 – questions based on a picture stimulus based on one topic that is allocated by Pearson. Task 3 – conversation based on two themes. The first theme is based on a topic chosen by the student in advance of the exam. The second theme is allocated by Pearson.
