Who makes up the SFTA? The goal of the SFTA, a non profit 501(c)(3), is to build the first public indoor tennis facility in Sioux Falls. Tennis will become accessible to everyone regardless of skill, age and economic background. No matter weather conditions, hot or cold, rain or snow, the sport of tennis will be enjoyed. Why is a public indoor tennis facility needed? Quality of Life Winter/Fall public tennis programs are nonexistent Private courts “leave out” many due to expense, lack of availability and exclusionary Colleges/Universities can not compete at higher levels Heavy Demand from public/private school based athletics Short courts, Special Olympics, wheelchair tennis, pickleball expands our reach Tennis is truly a “Sport for Life” Economic Impact Tournaments/Events to bring over $2 million into SF economy Sioux Falls can REGAIN status as top Midwest tennis destination Can capitalize on Division I, Division II college conference tournament opportunities Retain and attract employees
Sioux Falls lags far behind other cold weather cities.
