Radio network evolution proposed by ALU The following evolutions are proposed by ALCATEL-LUCENT: An upgrade of BSS software release from B 9 to B 10 is considered; Coverage and capacity extension to 300 000 voice subscribers, by the addition of new sites in both urban/suburban and rural areas; GPRS and Edge activation The following state of the art products are proposed: o Twin TRX to minimize the BTS footprint and save cabinets (up to 24 logical TRX per cabinet); o BSC A 9130 Evolution, combining a large capacity in a reduced footprint; o MFS A 9130 Evolution, to handle GPRS traffic. o In the specific case, BSC/MFS rack sharing configuration is proposed. 13 All Rights Reserved © Alcatel-Lucent 2008, XXXXX
