Establishment of FROSIO A new profession was established in Norway: in 1985 Surface preparation This included the following 4 professions: – Galvanizer – Hot dip galvanizer – Thermal sprayer – Industrial painter Overhead version English 4

Establishment of FROSIO Norway had traditional shipbuilding and did training of paint inspectors on-the-job basis. Inspectors normally came from the paint industry. In 1970 building of oil installations started in Norway. After the upgrading of the applicators was established in 1985, it was necessary also to upgrade the inspectors. Maintaining the FROSIO Certificate • A certificate expires after 5 years + 180 days • The inspector is responsible to notify the FROSIO Secretariat in due time • A minimum of 2 years inspection practice shall be documented • A renewal fee will be charged Overhead version English 25

The FROSIO examination includes: 4½ hours theoretical part Questions and answers and 4½ hours practical part 15 stations with different tasks Overhead version English 26
