syllable Open syllable: a)ends in a vowel b)consonant+e Closed syllable: ends in a consonant. Third type: vowel + r Fourth type: vowel + r +e

Open syllable In this type vowels are read as they are called in the alphabet. examples: ● pale /phe: ıl/ ● I /a: I/ ● he /hi: / ● go /gə: u/ ● true /tru: /

Сloused syllable In this case the vowels are read briefly. examples: ● ask /ask/ ● sock /sɔk/ ● in /ɪn/ ● truck /trʌk/ ● hen /hen/

Third type Vowels reproduce long sounds. “R” isn`t read, but demonstrates duration. examples: ● car /kha: / ● sort /sɔt/ ● first /fɜ: st/ ● term /thɜ: m/

Fourth type In this type all vowels reproduce long and complicated sounds. examples: ● dare /deə/ ● core /kɔ: / ● tire /thʌıə/ ● mere /m. Iə/
