Ship’s Model • USS Leahy (DLG-16) Navy model catalog #459, length 133. 25" (3. 385 m), scale 1: 48, delivered October 29, 1962. Believed to be an upgraded drawing room model. Currently designated "USS Leahy (CG-16)" and displayed at the Naval Surface Warfare Officer's School, Newport, RI.
Roll-Out Accomplishment of a complete memorial can be executed in two phases which will be in concert with two tiers of fundraising goals At the 15 k tier we can procure the USS Leahy ships model from Surface Warfare School in Newport RI. The cost will include transport and personnel expense to set up the model for permanent display. The memorial at this point can be opened with the items procured from Naval Archives at little to no expense and with digital copies of photos and papers that can be procured and reprinted at minimal expense.

Roll Out Cont. With an additional 50 k a life sized bronze statue can be commissioned by a company in Minnesota. Due to the higher expense of the statue I think it would be wise to postpone procurement until more vigorous fundraising efforts can be made.
