First steps • Alexander Kerzhakov was born on the 27 th of November in the year 1982 in Kingisepp (Russia). His father was a football-player and played in «Himik» Dzerzhinsk, his brother Mikhail plays in «Volga» Nizhniy Novgorod. Alexander had gone to the football school of «Zenith» Saint. Petersburg until the year 2000, when he began his career of football-player in «Svetogopec» Svetogorsk, amateur football club. There he scored 27 goals in 32 matches.

Zenith • From the end of the year 2000 to the end of the 2006 year he played in «Zenith» Saint. Petersburg. He scored 64 goals in 159 matches, that is why he began to play in the national football team of Russia and took part in the World cup 2002. From this World Cup he became a very important player for the national team of Russia and «Zenith» .

Sevilla • On the 28 th of December of the year 2006 he signed a contract with «Sevilla» , a well-known Spanish football club. This act cost 5, 5 million €. • In this club he won The UEFA Cup and Spanish Cup. But he took part not in all matches and in the year 2008 he returned to Russia, but not to Zenith, he became a player of «Dynamo» Moscow.

«Dynamo» and «Zenith» again • Kerzhakov played in this club for 2 seasons and scored 19 goal. It was a good result and «Zenith» wished to return him for itself. And from the year 2010 Kerzhakov is playing in «Zenith» . In «Zenith» he won two championats of Russia, the Super cup of Russia, Russian Cup. And in the season 2010 he became the best football-player in Russia.

Russian national team • In 68 matches he scored 22 goals. He took part in the World Cup 2002, Euro-2004 and Euro 2012, but scored goals only in qualifications. In the qualification to the World Cup 2014 he scored in 4 matches three goals, and therefore Russia is the first in its group now.

Interesting facts • Alexander Kerzhakov is divorced. He has a daughter Darya. • His favourite music group is «Leningrad» . • He played a role in film «Vykrutasy» . He also visited «Projectorperishilton» and «Comedy Club» • To the 25 th of October, 2012 he had scored 200 goals. • He has nicknames «Kerzh» , «Kerzhak» • In English language there is a word «Kerzhakoved» that mean «not accuracy» . It is used in football world. This word appeared after Euro-2012, on which Kerzhakov struck only out of gates. • His motto-struck, strikes and will strike!
