SEG AAL Meeting 11 th to 12 th (1) § IEEE presentation on Ethernet standards Series 802 and AAL § Continua Health Alliance presentation on the latest developments § Continua Health Alliance has expressed their interest in working with IEC on the standardization of their interoperability guidelines and IEC SEG AAL would like to progress on this topic before the final set-up of the IEC System Committee for AAL § (Supplement: there was a Meeting between Continua and IEC SEG AAL on May the 9 th in Berlin) § IEC SEG AAL recommends to establish the liaison with the Continua Health Alliance. Both organizations could profit from the liaison and cooperation. § IEC SEG AAL recommends that the IEC CO, IEC TC 62 and IEC TC 100 are involved in the discussions of where appropriate work should be progressed at the initial stage. 3/10
SEG AAL Meeting 11 th to 12 th (2) § The final report was reviewed: each sub-group reported to SG 5 so the final report was completed and finally approved § The reports from the Modeling Team and the Security Team were already reviewed during the October 2013 SG 5 meeting. The Status Team report was now ready and could also be reviewed during the March meeting by the SG 5 AAL Members § Furthermore during the meeting a workshop session has been organized to deal with the specific issues of the recommendations to submit for the future SYC scope, structure, and Chairman profile § The final version of the report has been drafted and circulated to the SEG members and was reviewed during a webmeeting on the 28 th of April. After this it will be submitted to SMB for approval 4/10
The work done to forward interoperability The Status Team found out, which standards are already existing, which IEC TCs are working on AAL and which stakeholders need to be involved in the future. This team also collected a list of terms and definitions. The Modeling team was inspired by the work of SG 3 and former SG 1 to develop a tool to map use cases to indentify gaps in standardization. They invented a template together with the TC 100 and collected use cases to proof the functionality of the tool. The Data Security Team reviewed the different regulations in regards to data security/privacy and assessed the needs of AAL products in regards of reliability and safety. Safety and reliability is a well known playground for IEC, but data security is something that needs to be treated special. 5/10
