Process Documentation Plan Group A Issue: Community Buy-in to plans for Wasiak Reservoir SWITCH TOC: Building a reservoir will save the area from occasional flooding & provide lovely recreational space leading to better quality of life. Specific Challenges: First to get them to look at river as ‘river’; to find feasible alternatives to sewage dumping
Process Documentation Plan Group A Purpose of the Plan: Internal learning- learning from a challenge to theory of change How will the Captured Info be Analysed: 2 perspectives on the problems in the area; something of the life of the community members; c’ty ambitions for the area; ‘experts’ response

With Whom: Primarily c’ty members; experts (conceptualisation & implementation) Where: the planned site & community by the site

Be Disseminated: At presentation to LA exhibition How will the purpose of the plan(? ) be monitored: LA facilitators may document any adjustments in plans/approach as a result of this video. Could also do another video of c’ty portraits after 5 years.

Reflections on Experience How important was the planning? n What were your expectations – and how far were they met? n How did the dynamics of working in a team affect the production process? And did we think there any advantages of documenting processes as a team? n What would you say are the advantages & disadvantages of video for process doc? n
How Important Was The Planning? n Very, very- clarifying what IS process n Decisions that you make in the field inform what ends up screen, decisions informed by planning…but also makes mockery of planning n What distinguishes us from other type of filmmakers (like anthropological documents)
What were your expectations? n Finished product n Realised how we underestimated the time & complexity n Finally – aware of the time & effort – now very pleased with what we achieved n Planned sequence of shooting (ha!)
How did the dynamics of team affect production process? Recognise the limitations of democracy n Hardship brings social capital (bonding) n Flexibility of roles more than we expected n More consensus in decision-making (for 1 group) n Challenged each other on decisions/assumptions of documenting n
