Since 2005, the University of Hohenheim has been home to the largest biogas research laboratory in Europe. Scientific Center Straubing At present the Science Center Straubing is composed of five Bavarian universities (Technical University of Munich, University of Applied Sciences of Weihenstephan, University of Regensburg, University of Applied Sciences of Deggendorf, University of Applied Sciences of Regensburg) and is working on mutual research projects. These projects investigate the material use as well as the energy use of biogenic resources. Of course the academic education is another objective. Conclusions 1. Due to the positive market situation in the field of Renewables, in 2007/2008 new courses were set up. 2. The courses are process and market oriented and technology (development of new processes and technologies) oriented. 3. Research and educational training are closely connected. 4.
