Fabick Cat, Inc. Overview • The late John Fabick, Sr. , founded the first Fabick Company in 1917, merchandising Cletrac Crawler Tractors and John Deere farm implements. With only three employees and one small store on South Grand Avenue in St. Louis, Mr. Fabick set out to “build the greatest service organization of its kind. ” To achieve this goal, he adopted as his company creed “to ever serve our customers better. ” Almost 100 years later, Doug Fabick is the 5 th generation dealer principal. • Fabick Cat sells, rents and services Caterpillar and related products in virtually every sector of the economy. From Caterpillar excavators, dozers and loaders that work in construction, mining and agriculture, to Cat power generation systems used in emergency standby, load management and renewable energy applications. • Fabick Cat operates out of three main business units (Prime Product, Power Systems, and Fabick Rents) that includes about 37 locations and about 1, 100 Team Members. • 70% of Fabick's workforce is dedicated to parts and service with 550 service technicians.

Become a FABTECH Student cont. Deadline to Apply: – Apply early because enrollment is limited to 30 students. – Completed applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Next Step: – Once the completed application form, letter of interest form, release of information form and the application fee have been sent to FVTC Admissions, FVTC will send you further information on program requirements and procedures within 5 business days. – FVTC will request official copies of academic transcripts and academic Testing/Assessment requirements. Acceptance: – You will be interviewed by FABTECH Recruiting Specialists and once you have completed the interview you will receive a letter informing you of the admission decision for the FABTECH Program.
Housing in Oshkosh • FABTECH has a partnership with UW – Oshkosh and the Gruenhagen Center for dorm housing. – – All rooms come furnished with beds, desk, dresser, closet, microwave, refrigerator, cable TV access and internet access. An attractive full-service dining hall with a variety of economical meal plans is available to all FABTECH students. Students are given a UW-Oshkosh ID card so they are able to use all UW-Oshkosh facilities such as Cafeteria, Fitness Center, Library, etc. . 2015 – 2016 costs for the dorms are about $4, 100/year.

Are there any additional fees that apply beyond tuition? – • Yes. All credits received will be applied towards a Certificate of Completion in Individualized Technical Studies from FVTC. Credits can be applied toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in Construction Equipment Technology or EPG & Marine Engine Technology. FABTECH students will be provided the use of tools, clean uniform daily, and course materials at no additional cost. Housing and Meal options are expenses that are not covered in the tuition fees. Is financial assistance available? – – Financial Aid is available for those students that qualify. Additional information can be obtained with the FVTC Financial Aid Office. Top students in the program may be eligible for additional financial incentives.

You will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to be an entry level Caterpillar dealer service technician. Fabick Cat Service Technicians also receive additional paid training to help them stay on the cutting edge of equipment and diesel engine technology. Are there advancement opportunities at Fabick? Yes. As a Technician at Fabick we conduct performance reviews every six months. You are eligible for a pay increase every six months based on performance. Most graduates start their careers working as a Shop Technician. Fabick’s philosophy is to develop Team Members and promote from within. Depending on your interest in a career, you could advance into Field Service, Technical Specialist, Supervisor/Management, Sales, etc…
