Enquiry About Results service • REMARK option is available for all written examinations – a cost is involved • The mark can go up or down or stay the same – the new mark will stand • Refund for the unit which causes the AS grade to change • Cost is charged per paper and differs between exam boards (£ 24 -£ 46) • Deadline for remark requests is 19 th Sept
Enquiry About Results service • Original exam scripts may be requested until Tues 26 th Sept (cost from £ 6 -£ 11) • Request forms for all these services are available on desk in school foyer • It is helpful to seek advice from the subject teacher regarding remarks & scripts • If unsure, it is usually more beneficial to repeat (resit) the examination in May/June (the better mark will stand in this case)
Exam Repeat advice • Consider exam repeats carefully – usually (but not always) better to repeat the unit with the lowest score • A resit strategy is advised – target certain units, consider all subjects • A-level examinations are NOT AVAILABLE in January 2018 • Large majority of AS units are available to repeat in May/June – only one repeat per unit permitted • It may not be possible to repeat some practicalbased/coursework units in certain subjects
