ESSEM DC ESR Grant ESSEM • Second call for DC ESR Grant: deadline on 1 st September: ES 0601 – Dr. Enric Aguilar - American Geophysical Union’s Fall Meeting (AGUFM) – 15 -19 December 2008 - San Francisco Was examined and approved by the DC Core Group, but unfortunately the abstract was not accepted by AGUFM Þ As 3 DC ESR Conference Grant are available per year, one already allocated, 2 collecting dates have been launched: 28 February 2009 and 31 March 2009 The conference can be held in June or July 2009 COST is supported by the EU RTD Framework Programme ESF provides the COST Office through an EC contract

ESSEM Call for volunteers: TDP-SAB assessors • Pool of experts for TDP assessment of pre-proposals in the Open Call. • In order to ensure a sufficient number of experts for the assessors’ allocation during the TDP pre-proposals evaluation while keeping the number of assessments per reviewer at a reasonable level. • Not be part of the TDP-SAB, but can be used at the TDP-SAB Chair's discretion. • 10 DC members to participate in the evaluation process of the pre-proposals, in case of need. • In case there are not enough volunteers within the DC, external experts, e. g. ESSEM Annual Progress Conference and Report Templates • The Head of Science Operations submitted to the last JAF new templates for the Annual Progress Report and the Final Report • The scientific part of the reports will focus on 3 main items: New networking – Innovative networking – Inter-disciplinary networking. Approval by CSO on 17 -18 March 2009? • Not subject to the approval of the CSO: revision of the guidelines for the organisation of the Annual Progress Conference. • Less focus on science; more focus on administrative networking data and networking activities. • All documents and templates will be disseminated by email and will be put on the restricted area.
