EURADE How to form a consortium Maastricht University – Centre for Contract Research Professional acquisition and management of research funding is both a complex process as well as an overall new mindset! The Centre for Contract Research manages this process and assists in the further development of such a mindset.
EU Funding: FP 7 • FP 7 stands for Seventh Framework Programme for Research & Technological Development • The EU’s main instrument for funding research in Europe • • • Supports research in selected priority areas Implemented by the European Commission (EC) Running from 2007 to 2013 Total budget = 53, 2 Euro An important budget increase from FP 6 Centre for Contract Research
FP 7: Structure • Made up of 4 main specific programmes • Plus a specific programme on nuclear research (Euratom &JRC) • Integration of the international dimension into all specific programmes • The budget of the “Cooperation” specific programme is the largest one (around 60% of the total budget) Centre for Contract Research

(Minimum) conditions for participation • At least 3 independent legal entities from 3 different EU Member States (MS) or Associated Countries (AC) • provided this minimum has been achieved, any number of additional participants from other countries can be included • interest organizations & entities established under Community law) Centre for Contract Research
Forming a consortium • Minimum 3 partners from 3 member states • Academic, industry and NGO (DPO) • Small/medium or Large collaborative projects • Visit FP 7 meetings for networking purposes • Get in contact with yout NCP • Search the FP 7 (and FP 6) databases Centre for Contract Research
Participating countries in FP 7 Member States (blue): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Romenia Associated Countries (white): Switzerland, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein and Norway Candidate Countries (green): Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey.
