What does this mean for distance learners? n The redesigned business processes take account of distance learners n All admissions processes will be carried out online by both applicant and admissions staff. This includes the processes which apply to applicants to Distance Learning programmes n Immediately following receipt of their application, automated processes will generate an EASE account and issue this to the applicant n Applicants will be able to monitor their application throughout the process n Will enable both sides to communicate with speed and facilitate global access n Applicants will automatically and smoothly transfer into 'studentship' (e. g. once unconditional firm) n Will enhance the pre-matriculation experience for e-learning applicants.
Initial Implementation: Oct 07 - March 08 n UG and PG on-line admissions, publishing of programmes etc n EASE-integrated from 1 March 2008 n Applicants can access all My. Ed content from then, and through IDMS will move seamlessly from pre-UF to UF

Business analysis for pre-arrival and commencement is already underway and this includes distance learners. They will also be included in the analysis for part 2 of student administration. Business analysis on assessment has commenced For existing VLEs - where a VLE can return assessment results to the student (Web. CT), that will continue - the final assessment result for each course managed in a VLE will need to be imported into EUCLID - reports for Boards of Examiners must be derived from data in EUCLID - assessment results imported into EUCLID must conform to EUCLID standards and requirement
