The following is brought forth from FY 15 ETS-S Milestones for FY 15 (NOAO Annual Program Plan): § Refurbish the Blanco Aluminizing tank and optimize its control parameters to ensure stable, reliable and reproducible deposition of a good quality coating (ongoing work…RA/VA/Telops) § Repairing the mirror elevator and building a new handling cart for the Cassegrain cage. (ongoing work, PS) § Upgrade the Blanco Dome Shutter emergency brakes. § Upgrading the SOAR Telescope Control System (TCS) to the same standard as the recently upgraded TCS of the Blanco 4 -m telescope. (STCSK 2 done Q 1 FY 16, STCSApp+STCSGUI done between Q 2 -Q 3 FY 16) From CTIO milestones and objectives: § Start planning the aluminization of the SOAR M 1 in the Gemini plant and implement the upgrade that may be needed to get a good coating.
