What we believe Ø We believe that childhood should be free from any kind of violence. It’s a right that should be respected and implemented. Ø Violence is preventable if all the people surrounding a child will have a common understanding. (what is violence, what signs signal about violence and how it should be treated) Ø We care about safety in the family; at school and extracurricular activities; in residential placements; online; in community – where ever children are, their right to feel safe should be a priority.
The core foundation of our work are the 6 child right principles: Ø Ø Ø Child rights Child participation Do no harm Non discrimination Best interests of a child Strength based approach Child rights based approach – seemingly simple, but not always easy. .

Support and educational groups for parents Ø Guardian angel (age 0 -2) Ø Pathways to competence (age 0 -7) Ø Guidelines in parenting a teenager (age 11 -16) Ø Father groups – Fathers matter
Džimba Safety Program Interactive program with the aim to teach children (age 4 -9) skills of personal safety in contacting with other people – familiar persons, strangers, peers or adults. Core principles: Rights, Boundries, Empowerment, Problem solving skills During the program children live through different situations which help them: • recognize dangerous situations • teach how to react • where to turn for help

Next steps to take Ø Assessment of the capacity of existing 5 crisis centers in regions - premises, specialists, existing cooperation mechanisms, etc. Ø Raising awareness on the role of research based interview protocol (NICHD) among investigators; Ø Recommendations for amendments in Criminal Proceeding`s Law and interinstitutional agreements.
