Assessment • Assessment entirely by portfolio Learners often hold their evidence in a folder or file, and we refer to this as a ‘portfolio of evidence’ • The portfolio will be assessed using a project which will be made up of purposeful activities all linked to show coverage of the standards. • One (or more) activities set in the learner’s context • Discrete additional material
e-portfolio - definition An e-portfolio is a digitised collection of artefacts that represents the learner’s evidence. The collection can be textbased, graphic or multimedia, archived on a website or another electronic media such as a CD-ROM, DVD, USB pen.
Meeting the level Level 1 • Confident the candidate is applying ICT skills independently to meet the needs of the activity. • Fit for a clear purpose and set in context • Sufficient to show the range of skills • Understanding of why they are using ICT

Nature of Evidence • 1. 1 – 1. 3 and 2. 1 – 2. 3 • Evidence Requirement – must be met in portfolio • Guidance – exemplification of Evidence Requirement • Assessment Guidance – clarifies how evidence can be presented
Using ICT Systems (1. 1) • A – E (using settings etc) evidence implicit in portfolio • what does implicit mean? • F – (work with files / folders) annotated screen dump • G – I (safety / security) either comments on work or discrete additional material
Find and Exchange Information (1. 2) • A – sources of information (at least 2) • B – (copyright) – comments on work or discrete additional material • C – E (search techniques) implicit in locating and using sources • F– G screen dump of emails with attachments
Develop and Present Information (1. 3) • text, tables, images, numbers and records • to meet above requirement most of a – m will be addressed in portfolio • requirement for “sufficient rigour and scope” • n (review effectiveness) included in the portfolio or as discrete supporting material • n has link with developing information

Developing Activities • must be in context of learner • must provide evidence (together with supporting material) to meet the Evidence Requirements for each of 1. 1 – 1. 3 or 2. 1 – 2. 3 • must meet the Assessment Guidance requirements • must allow learners to produce sufficient work with the appropriate breadth and depth for the level
