English-speaking countries through students' eyes
The poll of students Running the poll was an important part in learning about how the youth spends its pastime, since it's the most trustworthy source. What’s the most fascinating thing about english-speaking countries foreign students? The poll results showed us that the most popular pastime activities in english-speaking countries amongst foreign students are entertainment, getting to know new cultures, people and their traditions. The poll of students • Due to visiting museums and theatres has became a relatively popular activity in many large countries of the world, the poll results showed us that 30% of youth enjoys expanding their aesthetics knowledge. • One of the other most favorite pastime activities amongst the modern youth is spending time at amusement parks. Those places are filled with feelings of freedom and happiness – 19%. • The amount of those who are fond of going shopping or those who prefer going to cafes or restaurants turned out equal - 14%. So in this presentation I decided to speak about pastime activities and the most popular local traditions of the following countries: Great Britain, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Great Britain attracts large amounts of tourists with its famous historical places. Ever since a very young age most of us has heard about Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Tower of London, Madame Tussauds and many other well-known sightseeings.
The Main Sights Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Westminster palace in London. The British London Eye is the world's tallest observation wheel, at 135 m high. Located on the banks of the River Thames it offers unrivalled views over London.

The Royal Ascot is the most famous races, dating back to 1711. Ascot is as much about being seen as watching the horses, and nothing attracts more attention than an overthe-top hat. Guy Fawkes Night is observed on the 5 th of November when people light fireworks and burn a straw guy on a bonfire. This celebration is often associated with collecting money for charity.
Porridge is the dish Englishmen are The English are tea-drinkers. very fond of. They have it many times a day. Many of them eat porridge with milk and sugar for breakfast.
The day of a typical Englishman in the course of centuries began with scrambled eggs with bacon and tomatoes. To this day, triangular sandwiches have become one of the staunchest English traditions. The British are big fans of meat. One of their favourite national dishes now is the Sunday roast served on Sundays.
Bluewater is the largest out of town shopping development in Europe, located in London. Harrods is the famous department store that every tourist wants to visit. Be prepared to spend a long time in Harrods as it contains over 300 departments.
Students from all around the world enjoy visiting America with help of such student exchange programs as Work & Travel and Camp America is a country that all of the youth wishes to visit, as it is a world full of celebrities, great movies and the most amazing music in the whole world

She holds a tour in her right hand with the date “July 4 th, , 1776” in her left hand. Times Square is a busy square in the center of Manhattan. It is known for its bright lights and many theatres and cinemas. On New Year Eve, thousands of people gathere to watch a ball move down as the New Year approaches.
The Main Sights The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the largest and most famous suspension bridges in the world. Hollywood Walk of Fame was founded in 1958 in honor of the artists working in the entertainment industry.
Amusement parks Cedar Point (Ohio) Has been voted 'Best Park on the Planet' eight years in a row. Opened in 1870 on the banks of Lake Erie. Universal Studio is a film park focusing on complex simulations, rides and stunt shows.
Very often traditional American food is associated with fast food, another American tradition involves salad bars. The main rule of salad bars is to pay one price and eat as much as you want

Canada’s official national sports are hockey in the winter and lacrosse in the summer.
The most important is Canada Day. It is Canada’s national birthday. The first Canada Day was on July 1 st, 1867. It is celebrating with fireworks, parades, barbecues, concerts, carnivals, fairs and picnics.

Chicken and corn soup. Australia has embraced Chinese food. There’s an abundance of Chinese restaurants dotted throughout every city and town. Green chicken curry pie. Australians love Thai food. They also love pies (a lot). Put a Thai chicken green curry inside a pie casing and you get the Aussie variant of a green curry.
