Endangered species of animals Australian Koalas
• Australian koalas made in animal list, threatened with extinction. In Australia, there are only 80, 000 koalas. • These creatures are dying due to changes in the environment and because of the disease.
• Koalas - an ancient family of bears marsupial found only in Australia living in eucalyptus trees and eating their leaves. • But their number has decreased: them to only a few tens of thousands left the continent. • Now the population of koalas - only 80 thousand individuals.
• Koala lives on a diet of eucalyptus plants. Many of these trees are cleared every year. Thus, AKF relies on donations, sponsorship and fundraising to finance its ongoing work.
Sifaka
• Sifaka is a medium-sized primate in one of the lemur families. • They can jump up to 10 meters from one tree to the next tree.
• When sifakas are not in the trees, they move on two legs in small jumps. It looks strange, like dancing. • Sifakas make noises like speaking. In the past, people thought that they were ghosts, not animals.
• The loss of habitat due to active cutting down and burning of forests in the region and the continued hunting of lemurs – the main threats to the existence of this amazing animal. • But conservation centers suggest that the population was not in danger of extinction.
