COMPANY PROFILE Carrs have had a long tradition of making special steels in Sheffield since 1902. The company became a division of ELG Haniel Metals LTD in February in 1992. Concentrating its activities into the manufacturing of Austenitic, Stainless, Duplex and Super Duplex and some Nickel Alloys. As ELG Carrs we are a recognised supplier of our products to the World Market and currently have business in more than 30 different countries.

RAW MATERIALS Single supply of raw materials, direct from our Templeborough facility. Furnace ready, blended scrap, guaranteed to melt correctly each and every time.

MELTING FACILITY ELG Carrs Stainless Steels operate two 2. 5 MW , 5 tonne induction furnaces with ladle vacuum degassing and VOD treatment. VOD ladle metallurgy means that Carbon levels down to 0. 02% can be achieved and hydrogen levels typically of 2 ppm. Main product lines are Ingots( up to 10, 000 kg), reforging billets, Forged bars, hollow bars, bored pipes, machined rings, milled flats and squares.

INGOTS ELG Carrs Stainless Steel is a specialist producer of ingots weighing up to 10, 000 kg in 17 different sizes. Special mould sizes can be introduced by contract arrangement. Utilising our VOD and vacuum de- gassing facility in conjunction with a ‘clean steel’ pit side practice achieves a high level of steel cleanliness. All ingots are uphill teemed using the latest sliding gate and ingot head technology. Which coupled with our ladle metallurgy, provides consistently high yielding ingots.

BILLETS As manufacturers of Austenitic Stainless, Duplex and Super Duplex steels, ELG Carrs Stainless Steels supply billet from their comprehensive ex-stock range and on a forward production basis to clients within the re-forging industry. Billets can be supplied in the surface ground or black condition; - Round billets up to 660 mm dia. - Square billets up to 600 mm square.

BARS Comprehensive Ex- stock range of 1600 tonnes in sizes up to 610 mm diameter. Bars can be supplied in the forged and turned, peeled, machined or in the black condition.

BLANKS ELG Carrs Stainless Steel have the facilities to produce bar sawn blanks on a fast track basis. Size range up to 610 mm dia down to 15 mm thick on our 12 fully automatic band saws from our full range of stock qualities.

RINGS Rings can be produced from Bar material by boring , trepanning and cutting to length as required by the customer.

HOLLOW BAR & PIPE At ELG Carrs Stainless Steels we can produce any quantity of seamless pipe that a customer requires in standard or non-standard grades and wall thickness. Supplying pipeline manufacturers, elbows and reducers, Accumulator manufacturers. -Size range up to 609. 60 OD( 24” NB) -Seamless only, cut to requested length.

FORGINGS & MACHINED COMPONENTS Manifold blocks can be manufactured in a number of shapes and sizes normally to customers’ individual design specifications. Forgings up to 6000 kg. In Rounds , Square, step forgings, flanges, rolled rings or any other shape to customer requirements. Produced in a black as forged or machined finish.

SQUARE FORGED BAR ELG Carrs precision mill square and rectangular forged bars and manifold blocks as required on our in house milling machines. Square forged bars can be supplied in lengths up to 4 meters dependant upon size. Supplies in black, de-scaled or milled finishes
