“Diver’s Assistant” by Alain Chartrand § § The “Diver’s Assistant” was designed to follow “Diver’s Assistant” by Alain Chartrand § § The “Diver’s Assistant” was designed to follow divers around shipwrecks. It had lights, a camera, bilge pump, two motorized propellers, a camera, and a 3” LCD TV screen. The Windows program that he wrote, allows the operator to navigate the “Diver’s Assistant” alongside the diver. In the Windows PC, the operator could see where the “Divers Assistant” was going as well as load images to be displayed to the diver through the onboard LCD TV. Alain competed at the Vireznet competition, which was a show for all colleges and university students in the area. The students would show their projects and they would be judged by Professors, Engineers and Computer Scientists working in the area.

It is a wireless voice activated control system for persons in wheelchairs to control electrical devices in their home by communicating with a wireless headset in spoken command words to control doors, radios, fans, tvs, etc. . Commands like “Computer open door” control the system. John has been working as a wireless security expert at RCMP secure networks since his graduation in 2001.

Daryl Lussier entered the first year of Vireznet with his PC Controlled Weather Station. Daryl Lussier entered the first year of Vireznet with his PC Controlled Weather Station. Daryl worked for several years at Alcatel as a test floor manager and then decided to further his studies in Computer Software Engineering at Lakehead University.

It had a camera mounted on it so that the computer could record the image and speed of an object onto the hard-drive of the PC. Dan works for Department of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government. He lives in London, England maintains all electronics systems (networks, telephones, satellite feeds, security systems, computers) in Embassies throughout Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Northern Africa and the Middle East. Dan travels frequently.

Jennifer Mulligan made a PC Controlled Rover with a camera and infrared lights for Jennifer Mulligan made a PC Controlled Rover with a camera and infrared lights for night vision. Jennifer has worked at RCMP secure networks since her graduation in 2001. She is a specialist in Secured User Identification Systems. She evaluates technologies such as retinal eye scanners, fingerprint readers and DNA readers to be used by military, police and security officers for login access into secure computer networks throughout the country and the world.

Hank House is shown here with his networked security and video monitoring system. It Hank House is shown here with his networked security and video monitoring system. It includes a PC controlled base unit and up to 4 remote satellite units. Each satellite unit contains a motion detector and a rotating camera. Hank lives near James Bay and has been working on setting up an Internet network and the local radio station for his community.

This project includes a touch screen monitor, coin slot, and custom Windows computer and program. The Kiosk can be used by any tourist who can speak French, English or Spanish. This could be setup to operate in tourist areas of the city like airports or Parliament Hill. Alex is currently studying Communications at Concordia University.

Maria Sabbagh ~ “Computer Controlled 360 Degree Rotating Text Display” A disk that rotates Maria Sabbagh ~ “Computer Controlled 360 Degree Rotating Text Display” A disk that rotates at exactly 7200 rpm with a microprocessor, 7 LEDs, and wireless communications link to a PC running a custom Windows application. Up to 32 5 x 7 dot matrix characters can be displayed in a 360 degree view range. Imagine mounting this unit in the middle of a room and being able to view scrolling text messages from anywhere within the room.

Daniel Paulin ~ “Windows Based Electric Guitar Effects and Stomp Box” An electric guitar Daniel Paulin ~ “Windows Based Electric Guitar Effects and Stomp Box” An electric guitar "Stomp box" to control a custom Windows effects processor program, allowing the user to modify or “effect" an electric guitar's signal by choosing presets specified by the user on a PC. These presets could then be cycled and modified using foot switches on the stomp box itself.
