Education in England is compulsory for all citizens aged from 5 to 16 years. It consists of four levels: 1) primary (Elementary School) — 5 -11 years 2) secondary (Secondary School) — 11 -16 years 3) post-secondary (Further Education) — 16 -18 years 4) tertiary (Higher Education) education.
The duration of the academic year in England is 38 weeks Vacations: summer (6 weeks), Christmas and Easter (2 -3 weeks) summer holidays (from 1 June to 30 September) Main occupations in UK universities : lectures Seminars laboratory work tutorials (individualgroup ) School day lasts from 9. 00 to 15: 30

After receiving A-level, young people can enrol in universities or higher colleges and obtain a bachelor's degree.
Such specific disciplines as art and design require the basic courses, and then three-year studies. Architectural and medical education in the country, provide longer periods of training — up to 7 years.
Universities in England conducted two main exam — at the end of the 1 st and 3 rd years of study; the results of examinations normally set the type and level of the degrees
The highest degrees awarded in universities are the degree of masters of science, arts and philosophy; doctors of philosophy, literature, law.
The degree of a doctor of philosophy can be regarded as a first degree in England.
