EDUCATION IN THE GREAT BRITAIN. Bazueva Marina Group 1 рс-9
The modern education system in the UK consists of four stages: Elementary School; Secondary School; Education; Higher Education.
Secondary education Preschool education takes place in kindergartens and preschool classes. Primary education is given to children from 5 to 1112 years old. From the age of 5, children attend two-year schools for toddlers (pre-preparatory school) From 7 to 11 years old - primary schools (primary, elementary or preparatory school). From 11 -12 years of age for children the stage of secondary education begins.
In Britain there are public and private schools. All schools adhere to a single educational minimum. Legislatively, mandatory compulsory secondary education for schoolchildren under 16 was introduced. Graduates of schools take final exams and receive a certificate of secondary education GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education). This certificate is sufficient to start an independent work activity, but does not entitle you to admission to higher education.
State Schools are free, designed to teach English children, as well as foreigners from 8 to 18 years old, whose parents have the right to permanent residence in the UK.
Higher education In England Wales, to obtain a bachelor's degree requires three years of study, in Scotland - four. In the case when, to obtain a certain degree, not only study, but also production practice is required, the total term will accordingly be extended.
Thank you for attention.
