DURING 2015 will be optimized 550 SCHOOLS At present ü 37% of secondary schools (almost 6. 5 000) - small-size (less than 5 students per class) ü in rural areas there are 68% of all schools (11 891), in which there are only 33% of students ü the number of teachers in the village and the city is almost identical: 234 0000 and 216 000; teacher-student ratio in rural areas = 1: 6 (in Europe Medium 1: 13) ü less amount of the quality teaching staff in rural areas ü the cost of learning one student in small-sized schools is 50 thousand, (in the town it is about 8 thousand). The purpose of optimization - improving the quality of education After the reform ü Children from rural areas show high results in tests ü pre-school and primary education is provided in the place of residence of the child if necessary ü saved resources are directed to the development of basic schools, the increase teachers’ payments ü provided the need for transportation the children to school POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: Transference of the school to NGO or local community (Polish experience in the conservation of smallsized schools)
