Education and Academic Affairs VA Badging Process - - When fingerprints are completed, Personnel Education and Academic Affairs VA Badging Process - - When fingerprints are completed, Personnel Security gives the Trainees a contact number to schedule a return appointment to receive a VA badge within a 120 day window; Important that Trainees call the contact number for the return appointment; All Trainees must obtain a VA Badge in order to access the VA computer system. In order to comply with DEA guidelines, VA Badges are necessary in order to e-prescribe controlled substances for outpatient prescriptions; Clinical Services (with Education oversight) will track receipt of badges by Trainees; 3
