Edgar Allan Poe A Golden Bug

Edgar Allan Poe was born in January 19 in 1809 and dead in October 7, in 1849. He was an American author, poet, editor, and literary critic, considered part of the American Romantic Movement. Best known for his remarkable tales of mystery and the macabre, Poe was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story, and is generally considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre. He was the first well-known American writer who try to earn a living through writing alone, resulting in a financially difficult life and career.

Main Hero of the Story -William Legrand: he is an aristocrat who moved to South Carolina after becoming impoverished. Now hi spending his life like an amateur naturalist. He even has his own collection of bugs. -Jupiter: he is an old free niga, who decided to spend his life in the role of housewife in the Legrand’s house. -Narrator: the hero without name. He is a friend of Legrand. -A Dog Newfoundland: a big beautiful dog who traveled with his company to the big tree cold “Liriodendron tulpifera”.

Short Summery This story tells us about poor aristocrat, who lives on the small island. All his company consists of his dog and his servant Jupiter. Sometimes his friend visiting him. In one day, when this friend came to him, hi found no one at house. But soon all Legrand’s company had returned, Legrand was in a very good mood. He found a very strange and beautiful golden bug this morning. He drew this bug on the old piece of paper and gave it to his friend, but everybody sad that’s this painting look’s like a skull. First William was disappointed, but soon he agreed with his company. After that he became very pensive. After few days Jupiter came to Legrand’s friend, and tell him, that behaves of William became very strange. When Jupiter with friend returned to Legrand’s house, William asked them to go with him to a trip. All company think that Legrand went out of his mind, but after short dispute everybody agreed went with him. They brought spades, a bug and other. When they came to a big tree Legrand ordered Jupiter to climb up to a tree with the bug. Everything was so strange, that Legrand’s friend started crying. Hi was sure about mindless of William. But Jupiter found a skull at tree, and situation changed a bit. After some measurements Legrand gave spades to his friends and ordered to dig a hole. Suddenly they found an old iron-bound coffer.

When they opened it they so a lot of riches. All Legrand’s company understood that William not mad at all. But how it’s possible? When Legrand so the skull at the paper hi understood, that this paper has some code, what can be seen only with are hot temperature. When he was alone he overwrote this cod and soon twigged it. The golden bug was only a subject of scoff at his friends, because he so that they look at him as hi is crazy. The End
