ECOLOGICAL PROBLEMS
Ecology is the science about relations between living organisms and their communities with each other and with the environment. The term was introduced into scientific language by the German biologist Ernest Hackel in 1866. The modern meaning of ecology has a broader meaning than it was at first. Everyone's attention to the ecology has led to the expansion of the original clearly defined by Ernst Haeckel knowledge (only biological) to other natural sciences and even humanities.
The most horrible ecological disasters are as follows: - water pollution; - soil pollution; - deforestation; extinction of rare species of birds, animals and fish; etc. -
Water pollution (seas, rivers, lakes, etc. ) – is one of the most actual problems. Man its activities permanently alter the natural regime of water bodies and waste discharges. There is a lot of water on our planet, fresh water – is only 3%, other 97% - the water of the seas and oceans. Three quarters of the fresh water are not available to living organisms , since it is water ice. Glacial water – is also a supply of fresh water
Gas emissions of large enterprises now and then contribute to the spread is absolutely unfit for healthy living air that we breathe and our children. Save the deplorable state of the atmosphere can only greenery, but not everyone is interested to create it, as they are taken away valuable space that could bring more profit.
Expansion of green parks in the atmosphere will bring more than pure oxygen. And people will have even more space for recreation in the open. In addition to planting a variety of green plants and trees, you must also monitor the activities of all the chemical plants. Only strict control and the set of the limit of the emission of harmful waste gas can preve nt global air pollution and a sharp decrease in oxygen.
Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stand of trees where the land is thereafter converted to a nonforest use. Examples of deforestation include conversion of forestland to farms, ranches, or urban use. Deforestation occurs for many reasons: trees or derived charcoal are used as, or sold, for fuel or as timber, while cleared land is used as pasture for livestock, plantations of commodities, and settlements. The removal of trees without sufficient reforestation has resulted in damage to habitat, biodiversity loss and aridity. It has adverse impacts on biosequestration of tmospheric carbon a dioxide.
Deforestation has also been used in war to deprive an enemy of cover for its forces and also vital resources. A modern example of this, for example, was the use of Agent orange in Vietnam. Deforested regions typically incur significant adverse soil erosion and frequently degrade into wasteland.
Today, cooperation between states comes to a new level: the development and joint programs, the conclusion of international conventions on protection of nature. Intensified as the activities of many well-known nongovernmental organizations are involved in the protection of the environment: Greenpeace and the Green Cross and Green Crescent develop a program to address the issue of the holes in the ozone layer of the Earth. Nevertheless, one can observe that international cooperation in the field of ecology is far from perfect
In future, advanced countries should move to a gradual program of reasonable restrictions on the use of natural resources. This is accomplished by dropping the population from excessive wealth. The funds released as a result of the project, go to the expense of development of environmental technologies. The next step is the formation of ecological thinking through the mass of environmental education. Formed as a result of a new culture of human behavior lay the groundwork of human connection with the natural environment, and will form the basis of peaceful coexistence
