Summary of Experiences 4 Performance experiences, 2 of which are joined with students from local schools n Guided tours of Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Wroclaw, Prague, and Nuremburg n Opportunities to interact with fellow musicians from across the ocean n Life-changing experiences giving them a new perspective on the people of the world n

Trip Details n Travel over Spring Break n 3 or 4 missed days of school depending upon flight arrangements n Ensembles involved: symphonic band, symphonic winds, and wind ensemble.

Trip Details (cont. ) n Air travel – commercial airlines will be used. We will not lock in airfare until we are 11 months out. n Air Miles – If we end up booking on an airline that you have miles with, you may use them. Please note, all students MUST travel on our flight. No alternate arrangements may be made. n Ground transportation – once in Europe, we will have private, luxury coach buses that transport us to each destination

SAFETY FIRST!! n Chaperones: There will be 1 MTSD faculty member for every 15 students. n Hotels: Our tour company only contracts with hotels they are familiar with. All hotels will be visited and verified. Hotel locations are carefully considered. n Cell Phones: Chaperones will have cell phones that students will be able to call at any time in the event of an emergency

Safety (cont. ) n Security Guards: Private security guards will be hired to patrol our portion of the hotel each night. n Transportation: ground transportation will be All via private coach buses. n Procedures : There are very strict procedures in place for students each time we move from one location to another

Safety (cont. ) n Pre-trip: All locations and venues will be visited by Mr. W, Mr. K, and our tour manager before we travel with the students. This is to ensure all locations are appropriate and safe for students n Nurse: A registered nurse will be with us at all times

Parent Participation Parents, you can go with us! Parents cannot act as chaperones, but can come along as paying participants on a parallel tour.

Trip Cost per student n TRC cannot set a definite price until: n n n Airfare is confirmed 11 months in advance Currency exchange rate is locked in Venues and destinations are confirmed Based on TRC’s experience, we are confident this trip will not exceed $3, 300 per participant. Our hopes are that it will be slightly less.

Payment Schedule/Deposit Rather quickly, we need an idea of how many students will be participating on this trip. We are asking for a $150 deposit by February 1 st.
