What program activities were designed?
Five main catergories
• House building and repair
LIVELIHOOD: Financial assistance for income generation
Medication & Health Surgery & rehabilitation services to children (<16 years old) with mobility impairement
Vocational training for PWD and family members of PWD
Support the capacity building for Social Centers, which provide services to PWD/CWD
How did we start?
Rapid Needs Assessment (RNA) Place: Every single province Duration: 1 week in every province Meetings: RC, Association of Vietnam Veterans, P-VAVA, WU, CPFC, Do. LISA, PWD groups, Centers supporting the disabled Visits: Randomly visited a limited number of families of PWD

RNA outputs • RNA report summarizing current situation of PWD in the province, services available to them, their needs and demands etc • Identification of prioritized program activities in the province and relevant local implementing partners • Allocation of funding to each of program components • Development of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with provincial government • Signing the MOA

IMPLEMENTATION
Preparation for implementation • Development of Program manual • Program Manual training given to local implementing partners in provinces • Identification of potential beneficiaries, based on the program criteria • Conduct of household surveys to a selected number of family of PWD • Finalization of the list of program beneficiaries for each program components.
Implementation (1) Housing improvement and financial aid for income generation: • Meeting with all beneficiaries to inform about possible assistance from DRIVE Program • Identification of potential list of beneficiaries, based on the selection criteria • Conduct of household surveys to a selected number of family of PWD • Finalization of the list of program beneficiaries for each program components.
Implementation (2) Children surgery services: • Identification of hospital where surgery would take place with high quality and proper cost • Signing contract with the identified hospital • Conduct of preliminary health check-up to identify CWD who could benefit from • Conduct of household surveys to a selected number of family of PWD • Finalization of the list of program beneficiaries for each program components
Program results
It is calculated that total number of direct beneficiaries is about 3, 100 individuals. If added number of indirect beneficiaries, the total should be over 5, 000 individuals.
