Please review our compilation of relevant faculty development programming that will be available around campus early this year. Residents and fellows are also welcome to attend events that they feel are appropriate to enhance their career development. Junior faculty within five years of appointment in the Department of Medicine, please fill out and return the survey that we emailed to you earlier this week. The results of this survey will be used to partner you with a career mentor within the department. If you are a junior faculty member within five years of appointment to the Case faculty, and you have NOT received this survey, please email Dasha Slobozhanina so that we can get you one. Women faculty and trainees, please take especial note of the negotiation strategies event on ebruary 4 th, moderated by the President of AMWA, and also of the F inaugural and unique event listed for February 8 th, which will bring together leaders from over Northeast Ohio to discuss issues of gender bias in the sciences and medicine. The vision of the organizers of this latter program is to reate an opportunity to enhance synergy and collaboration among women in the sciences and c health care throughout the city of Cleveland. Their hope is that bringing together a talented and motivated group will assist to create change and make our city an even more attractive workplace to women in health care and science. Also for women faculty and trainees, as well as other interested faculty and leaders, although it's not on our event list yet, we are asking that you please save the date for the Women Faculty School of Medicine (WFSOM) Annual Spring Dinner , on the evening of April 4, 2016. This is always a fabulous event at which you can network with your women faculty colleagues throughout the School of Medicine, as well as with leadership both at the hospital, school and university levels. This year's Keynote Speaker is Dr. Carolyn Clancy, Assistant Deputy Undersecretary for Health, Safety and Quality, and former Acting Undersecretary for Health, U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Clancy is a renowned health care leader, who formerly served as the Director of the AHRQ from 2003 -2013. She has been recognized for her contributions to national health care quality with appointment to the Institute of Medicine and was elected a master of the American College of Physicians in 2004. In 2009, she was awarded the William B. Graham Prize for Health Services Research. The Prize acknowledges national or international contributions of health services researchers who apply analytic methods to evaluate the organization, financing, and/or delivery of health services, and it is the most prestigious and highly regarded recognition an individual researcher can receive in a career of health services research. More specifics regarding this event will follow in the upcoming months. For educators, the Center for the Advancement of Medical Learning (CAML) invites interested faculty to attend the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) webinar series. This series of six sessions brings together some of the world's experts in health sciences education research. Their tips for success will provide invaluable help in getting your research published and read by your target audience. Each is offered on Thursdays at 12: 00 pm EST in Conference Room T-503 at the School of Medicine. The sessions are on January 14 th, 21 st, and 28 th, and February 4 th, 11 th and 18 th.
