It is recommended to know basic specification of KX-TDA 100 D and KX-TDA 600 before reading this document. However it is not required to know KX-TDE, KX-NCP and KX-NS 1000 before reading this document. Specifications are subject to change without notice.

25. PBX to PBX Connection using IP Business Improve More features are supported for PBX to PBX call. This feature works with KX-TDE-NCP version 4 or later and KX-NS PBX.

SIP Trunk Service Even when customer calls call center in UK (for example), KX-NS 500 installed in your country can receive the call using SIP trunk service without high cost for international call. Following is popular example in India using KX-TDE 600. Business Improve 27. Hospitality using PT Automatic answer of Panasonic PT (PBX Telephone) can work only for call from nurse. This is useful for hospitality. Automatic answer can be disabled for calling from visitor. - Class of service of extension caller (Not called party) can disable automatic answer feature of PT. - Walking COS (temporal COS change) is also available for this feature. Call from nurse Call from other room or visitor Mike, Are you fine? Ring Another example for nurse (1) Ring at first. -> No answer (2) Re-try with Walking COS for automatic answer. 24

Activation Key - Condition Activation key is required for CTI server except CA. - When other CTI server application is connected with KX-NS PBX directly, activation key for CTI (server) interface is required. - When other CTI server application is connected through CSTA MUX, activation key for CSTA MUX is required. Activation key for CTI (sever) interface is NOT required in this case. Chapter 5 Installation 39
51. Location of Installation KX-NS 500 and KX-NS 520 can be installed on wall or in 19 inch rack. Required equipment is packed. On Wall in 19 inch rack It is required to open the top cover of cabinet to install optional cards. 40
52. Connection with Expansion Cabinet KX-NS 500 and KX-NS 520 can be connected directly with straight LAN cable (CAT 5 E). Hub is not required. - This LAN cable is not shipped with KX-NS 520. - IP protocol is not used even using LAN cable. Communication protocol is similar to communication for KX-TDA 600 and KX-TDA 620. - Length of LAN cable has to be less than 3 m because IP protocol is not used and because avoiding trouble by thunder. KX-NS 520 KX-NS 500 Building -1 KX-NS 500 Building -2 KX-NS 520 KX-NS 500 and KX-NS 520 should not be installed in different building. 41
53. Programming using PC is available through LAN or modem. ISDN 64 k digital modem is available through PRI card of KX-NS 500 without KX-TDA 0196. Port forwarding is required for router to connect through LAN from remote location. Port number is 8080. 42
54. Programming through USB Easy Program Independent maintenance port like KX-NS 1000 is NOT supported. However KX-NS 500 USB port with external adapter works as independent maintenance port. KX-NS 500 with adapter supports DHCP server function by default like KX-NS 1000. KX-NS 500 USB Adapter LAN 192. 168. 0. 101 (default) LAN 223. 0. 0. 15 Panasonic System Networks confirmed that following adapters worked with KX-NS 500.
