Public Use of Hinode Data We organizied Working Group “PAONET Public Use of Hinode Data”
PAOHINODE WG Members started in 2006. Educators(8) Noritaka Tokimasa Hiromichi Gan Daisuke Suzuki Wataru Egoshi Mikizo Takeuchi Takayuki Honma Kazuyuki Saitoh Takeshi Kamitamari Reseachers(5) Masumi Shimojo Kentaro Yaji* Hideaki Tonooka Tomomi Shimoikura* Akika Nakamichi* (* worked as educators once) • Collaborating with Hinode Team in NAOJ(money, PCs, etc) • 4 -5 Meetings every year and Discussions by Mailing List • It is a peculiar point that many educators attend on the WG, which draw an interchange between educators/researchers and promote various type of EPO activities in the collaboration.
The First DVD ”The Sun Captured by Hinode ” Released in 2008 Mainly for Educators to Communicate Hinode Data to the Public. DVD Video part/DVD Rom part Short(2 m 36 s)/Long(16 min) Movie Introduction of Initial Hinode Observation Results Containing Quiz regarding Eclipse/Mercury Transit Full High Definition Movies(1920 x 1080) are contained. English Version is also available. If someone wants the DVD, please contact me. But, Limited to 100 DVDs.

• Public Impact? We had two questionnaires survey to confirm the efficiency of the First DVD Contents. 1. How was the DVD used at the educational facilities? • 46 Educators Answered. 2. How was the DVD Understood by public guest at the Educational facilities? • At 6 Public Observatories and Museums, 147 Audiences Answered. (Shimoikura 2009)

Public Impact! The questionnaires survey says, - The Educators/Audiences are highly satisfied with the DVD Contents. - The DVD contents are effective for education and public outreach.
Educational Materials(1)- Junior High School - This worksheet was used on my special talk in the local junior high school.
Educational Materials(2)- High School Developed by N. Tokimasa, who belongs to public observatory Calculating velocity of Prominence Material falling dawn He instructed a student to this analisys and the students presented the astronomical meeting in Japan. (Tokimasa 2010)
Educational Materials(3)- University- “Solar Terrestrial Physics” In Department of Physics, 51 Students attended the lecture. Lecture Contents Hinode/Yohkoh’s Observation Results Solar Structures Solar Corona Solar Flare, Prominence, etc After this lecture, Students report and summarize the Lecture with this worksheet • Students’ Reports are very interesting in various comments. I also do this year.
Future Works With Hinode High Resolution Data, Planning Full-Dome Movie as Projected at the Planetarium Developing More Educational Materials Educational Observation Proposal We will have various things Towards Next Coming Solar Maximum.
Summary PAONET Public Use of Hinode Data WG Produce/Release two DVDs with Hinode data The DVD Contents Satisfied Educators and give high efficiency on EPO. Also, Promoting Other Activities ex) Educational Materials Our Activities are quite unique in collaborating Educators/Researchers each other. Our work might be a good reference for other EPO Activities.
