Work-Based Certification Professional coursework needs to total six semester hours from the following pedagogy Work-Based Certification Professional coursework needs to total six semester hours from the following pedagogy areas: Induction/Teaching Methods Curriculum Design/Development Classroom Management Testing, Measurement and Assessment Behavioral Psychology Integrating Technology into the Classroom Reading and Writing in Content Area Middle/High Courses need to be from a regionally accredited college or university. Any course not in the above areas must be pre-approved by me.

If the new teacher is hired after DIRECT I starts in September, they must start with DIRECT II in January, then take DIRECT I in July. Failure to enroll in DIRECT can result in an Expired license. DIRECT I is a quick start that covers many areas DIRECT II focuses on classroom management DIRECT III focuses on curriculum DIRECT IV focuses on Assessment
