Describing a room
Описывая комнату, мы будем использовать два типа предложений:
1. There is a table in the corner of the room
Предложения такого типа переводятся с конца: В углу комнаты стоит стол.
Обратите внимание на артикли: There is a … on/in the…
2. The table is in the corner of the room
Такие предложения переводятся обычно: Стол стоит в углу комнаты.
Для разнообразия следует употреблять также такие выражения, как:
One can see – можно видеть
You can see – можно видеть
Можно прибегать к инверсии, т. е. изменять порядок слов:
In the corner of the room there is a sofa.
Вам потребуется знание следующих предлогов:
In – в on – на at – у (стоит вплотную, очень близко) Next to – рядом с
In front of – напротив opposite – напротив In the middle of the room – в середине комнаты
Between – между Below – под (на расстоянии) Under – под (на небольшом расстоянии)
Above - над (на расстоянии) Over – над (на небольшом расстоянии)
Behind – за, позади In front of - перед
