Overview of the OLSPB Official Languages Support Programs Branch YCW Official Languages As set out in the section 41 of the Official Languages Act, the OSLBP has the mandate to: ü Enhance the vitality of the English and French linguistic minority communities in Canada; ü Support and assist their development; ü Foster full recognition and use of both English and French in Canadian society. In accordance with section 42, it also coordinates the Government of Canada’s commitment to encourage other federal departments and agencies to participate actively in community development and promote linguistic duality.

YCW Official Languages (cont’d) YCW at Building Careers in English and French Official Languages Support Programs Branch YCW Official Languages (YCW-BCEF) The Department’s YCW-BCEF of the Career Focus program of the Government of Canada’s YES aims to: • meet the demand for skilled workers based on Canada’s linguistic duality • meet the demand for skilled workers in minority officiallanguage communities • promote opportunities for new Canadians and Canadian graduates in order to foster their integration or re-entry into the labour market in those communities • encourage youth to pursue graduate studies and professional development
