The British Royal Family
The House of Windsor is the royal house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. It was founded by King George V on 17 July 1917, when he changed the name of his family from the German Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (a branch of the House of Wettin) to the English Windsor, due to the anti-German sentiment in the British Empire during World War I. George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George( Prince Albert, Duke of York); 14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952) was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from 11 December 1936 until his death. He was the last Emperor of India, and the first Head of the Commonwealth.
George was a sickly child and was often ill. He also developed an acute stammer. After attending Dartmouth he joined the Royal Navy as a midshipman, but suffering bouts of acute gastritis, did not see action in the First World War until serving on HMS Collingwood at the Battle of Jutland.
He married Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1923 and they had two daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret.
George's elder brother Edward abdicated in order to marry, and George ascended the throne as the third monarch of the House of Windsor.
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary) Elizabeth II was born on the 21st of April in 1926. She is the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states and head of the 54-member Commonwealth of Nations. She is Supreme Governor of the Church of England
Elizabeth was the first child of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and his wife, Elizabeth. Her father was the second son of King George V and Queen Mary.Elizabeth was born in London and educated privately at home.
Elizabeth met her future husband, Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, in 1934 and 1937. They are second cousins once removed through King Christian IX of Denmark and third cousins through Queen Victoria.
Elizabeth, then aged 26, ascended the thrones of these countries upon the death of her father, King George VI, on 6 February 1952, and was proclaimed queen by her various privy and executive councils shortly afterwards. The coronation was held more than a year after the accession, on 2 June 1953. This followed the tradition that a festival such as a coronation was inappropriate
Princess Margaret Rose (1930-2002) The daughter of King George IV and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, and younger sister to Queen Elizabeth II, she began carrying out public engagements at a young age, accompanying her parents on their official visit to South Africa in 1947.
She was married to Antony Armstrong-Jones, who became Lord Snowden, in 1960 and had two children. They married in 1960 at Westminster Abbey and he became the Earl of Snowdon. They had two children, Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones. The marriage ended in 1978.
Margaret did not enjoy the hunting, shooting and fishing pursuits of the other royals. Her first love was the ballet, and she became president of the Royal Ballet. Over the years she attended scores of glittering film and theatre premieres and mixed with the stars, many of whom became her friends. Princess Margaret also loved reading. She became a collector of books and loved to discuss them with friends
Prince Charles of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George) born 14 November 1948 He is the eldest child of Queen Elizabeth II. Since 1958 his major title has been His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. He is also known as The Duke of Rothesay in Scotland and as The Duke of Cornwall in Cornwall.
Charles was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun Schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child After earning a bachelor of arts degree from Trinity College, Cambridge, Charles served a tour of duty with the Royal Navy from 1971 to 1976
His 1981 marriage to Lady Diana Spencer produced two sons, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge (born 1982) and Prince Harry of Wales (born 1984)
The couple divorced in 1996 after Diana publicly accused Charles of having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, and Charles admitted adultery on television. Diana died in a car crash in 1997 In 2005, after a lengthy continued association, the Prince married Camilla, who uses the title Duchess of Cornwall.

Diana was born on 1 July 1961. She was the fourth of five children of Viscount and Viscountess Althorp . The Spencers are one of Britain's oldest and most important families, closely allied with the Royal Family for several generations.
The wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Frances Spencer took place on Wednesday, 29 July 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral, London, United Kingdom. Their marriage was widely billed as a "fairytale wedding" and the "wedding of the century"
She remained the object of worldwide media scrutiny during and after her marriage, which ended in divorce on 28 August 1996. Media attention and public mourning were considerable after her death in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997.
Prince William, Duke of Cambridge He was born at 9.03 pm on the 21 of June, 1982, at St Marys Hospital, Paddington London.
He was educated at London's kindergarten of Jane Maynors. Learnt at the Wetherby school in London, then at Ladgrouv school in Berkshire.
In 1995 he enrolled at Eton College, where he studied geography, biology and history of art.
He graduated in 2005 with a Master of Arts in Geography in Scotland St Andrews University and graduated with honors from the second degree.
In May 2006, Prince William joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He received the rank of officer in December 2006 and joined the Royal Cavalry as a second lieutenant. In 2009, after graduating from flight school in KVVS Krenuelle was transferred to the Royal Air Force and promoted to the rank of Captain (Flight Lieutenant). Currently, he served as a rescue helicopter pilot. In December 2011 he took part in the rescue of Russian sailors from a sinking ship "Svonlend."

Prince Henry of Wales born 15 September 1984 commonly known as Prince Harry He is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales.
Like his father and brother, Harry was educated at independent schools, starting at Jane Mynors' nursery school and the pre-preparatory Wetherby School, both in London.
Following this, he attended Ludgrove School, and, after passing the entrance exams, was admitted to Eton College, where he studied geography, art history, and art at A-Level.
Prince Harry entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on 8 May 2005, where he was known as Officer Cadet Wales, and joined the Alamein Company. Within a year, in April 2006, Harry completed his officer's training and was commissioned as a Cornet in the Blues and Royals, a regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (Catherine Elizabeth Middleton; born 9 January 1982) She is the wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. The Duke of Cambridge is second in line to the thrones, after his father, of the 16 Commonwealth realms and the Duchess is expected to eventually become queen consort.
Catherine grew up in Chapel Row, a village near Newbury, Berkshire, England. She studied Art History in Scotland at the University of St Andrews, where she met the then Prince William of Wales in 2001.
Their engagement was announced on 16 November 2010, and she attended many high-profile royal events before they married on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey
