Who Tests? • Any 9 th, 10 th, 11 th, or 12 th grade student that has previously taken EOC. (That includes students that were absent) • Any student that completed an EOC course in December. 3
EOC Testing Dates Monday, December 5 : English I Tuesday, December 6: Algebra I Wednesday, December 7: English II Thursday, December 8: Biology Friday, December 9: US History Monday, December 12: Return all materials 4
“MAKE UP” Dates for EOC Testing • All ‘make-up’ sessions for STAAR assessments are scheduled: • • To be administered starting December 6, 2016 To be completed by December 9, 2016 • Daily ‘make-up’ testing must be completed by the end of each school day. 5
Security Requirements • Maintaining Inventory of all materials • Training of staff • Signed Oaths • Document Retention – 5 years • Irregularities – Two types • Penalties of prohibited conduct 6
Penalties for Prohibited Conduct • Placement of restrictions on the issuance, renewal, or holding of a Texas Educator Certificate, either indefinitely or for a set term; • Issuance of an inscribed or noninscribed reprimand; • Suspension of a Texas Educator Certificate for a set term; or • Revocation or cancellation of a Texas Educator Certificate without opportunity for reapplication for a set term or permanently. 7
Reporting Test Irregularities Each person participating in the state assessment program is directly responsible for reporting immediately and all violations or suspected violation of test security or confidentiality. Steps to follow when reporting: • • • Find out what happened Find out who is involved Find out where the irregularity happened 8
Reporting Testing Irregularities Call Dawn Ayers 281. 985. 6432 Provide her with as many details as you can Follow her directions from that point on Dawn will contact TEA for guidance and will get back with you. 9
Reporting Testing Irregularities You will collect typed statements from all involved: Must be on School letter head Use spell check Must be detailed and factual In a time line manner Must have individual’s signature and job title NEVER use student’s name: Refer to the student as “Student A; Student B” Disciplinary Action Plan must be completed and turned in with written statements. 10
Test Administrator Training • Training must: – Be completed by December 2, 2016 – Address the following topics (refer to the DCCM for your complete list): • Security • Oaths • Monitoring / Cheating • Responsibilities • Scheduling • • • Picking up / returning materials Attendance / Late students Restroom breaks Allowable testing procedures Allowable testing materials Accommodations 11
If cheating has been determined If an examinee has been involved in an attempt to cheat, the district is required to: • Invalidate the student’s test. • Parents are to be contacted “Disciplinary Action Form” must be completed and turned in to Dawn with written statements. 12
Cell Phones Rules for Students & Test Administrators No cell phones allowed in the testing area. If a cell phone is found, it must be collected and determined if cheating has happened. When texting or cheating has been determined, contact department. our 13
STAAR TIME LIMITS: Policies & Procedures STAAR English I and English II - five-hour time limit STAAR Algebra, Biology, US History - four-hour time limit. Students must: • Complete the test within the same school day • Record all responses before the end of the time period • Not be given additional time to record their responses on their answer documents 14
STAAR TIME LIMITS: Policies & Procedures Test Administrators must: • Time starts after directions are read • Use a clock or a timer to monitor test time • Communicate time left in 1 hour intervals then during the last hour communicate time in 15 minute intervals • Recorded student’s “STOP TIME” on the seating chart 15
Late-Arriving Students • Districts will need to determine if a late-arriving student will have time to test during that school day or if the student needs to test on a make-up day. (Call Dawn) • Each student must be allowed four hours (five hours for English I and II) in which to take the test. • Students who begin testing after others have started will have a later stop time. • Late-arriving students must be kept aware of the time they have left to test. 16
Allowed Breaks Time never stops for: • Water breaks • Bathroom breaks • Snack breaks • Short physical or mental breaks • Time will stop for: • Lunch • Emergency situations causing significant interruption • Consolidation/movement of student • Medical breaks • Test Administrator must document all ‘STOP and RESTART’ times 17
STAAR A EOC / STAAR L EOC • These tests will be administered for the last time in December • These tests are offered as an online assessment in the same grades and subjects as STAAR • Students must meet the Eligibility Requirements for STAAR A and or STAAR L 18
STAAR L EOC Administrations • Registration for online testing for this administration • On-line registration dates are September 19 thru December 9 • Participation collection managed in old TOMS • Districts will be able to add students or update information through ETS’s test management platform 19

Alternative Campuses • GAP; Compass; Highpoint; Homebound; and Hall • Email form to Denise on, Tuesday, November 15 , by 10: 00 a. m. • Materials will be collected at the new Warehouse on Wednesday, November 16 th, or when you come to pick up your materials 32
