Definition of holiday • Knowledge day — the day of the beginning of the academic year in Ukraine and some other countries, in particular in the CIS countries. Celebrated on September 1 st, a public holiday it was announced on 1 September 1984 the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. For first-graders a «Celebration of the First call» for all other beginning of the new academic year. Often this day is referred to simply as «first September» or «first day of September» .

Knowledge is power • The first of September is in a state of celebration – line, first call, meet with classmates and teachers, which I missed.
