Daniel’s 70 Weeks It was mentioned in the study of Ezekiel 4 that he Daniel’s 70 Weeks It was mentioned in the study of Ezekiel 4 that he been taken captive to Babylon in 597 B. C. , 11 years before Jerusalem was destroyed. This was the second siege of three against Jerusalem. Daniel the Prophet had been in Jerusalem captive from the first siege and already attained great fame. So we have Daniel in the palace, Ezekiel in the countryside. And Jeremiah in Jerusalem. Daniel 9: 1, 2 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; 2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Daniel 9: 1, 2 tells us that Daniel knew that the current exile of the Jews brought about by King Nebuchadnezzar of the Babylonian Empire where the land of Israel was completely

desolate would last 70 years according to the word of Jeremiah 25: 9 -12, desolate would last 70 years according to the word of Jeremiah 25: 9 -12, Jeremiah 29: 10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. Jeremiah 25: 9 -12 9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolation's. 10 Moreover I will take from the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. 11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of. Babylon seventy years. 12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are

accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolation's. Daniel also knew from his visions of Daniel 2, Daniel 7, Daniel 8 that at the end of the 70 year exile when the Jews were allowed to return to their land, that much more prophecy had yet to be finished before God would establish the Kingdom of God on earth ruling from Israel. Daniel prayed (Daniel 9: 19) to God with great supplication for the transgressions of his people, the temple (Solomon's which was destroyed by Nebuchandnezzar), and fallen condition of city of Jerusalem. Daniel’s mighty prayer life in action Daniel 9: 3 -19 3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: 4 And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to

them that keep his commandments; 5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and them that keep his commandments; 5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: 6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. 8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. 9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him; 10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. 11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by

departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. 12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem. 13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth. 14 Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. 15 And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly. 16 O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for

the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. 17 Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake. 18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. 19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name While Daniel was praying God sent the angel Gabriel to tell him that besides Jeremiah’s 70 years another 70 'weeks of years' would run it's course. God listed to Daniel (Daniel 9: 2027) certain events concerning His people, Temple, Jerusalem that would be fulfilled during this time. A week of years is 7 years like a decade is 10 years in U. S. . Seventy (70) weeks is 490 years. When these 490 years run their course then all the great promises of prophets to Israel concerning His people, Temple, city of Jerusalem fully restored. and the Kingdom of Israel established forever will all be fulfilled.

God’s list of events to fulfilled during Daniel’s 70 weeks Daniel 9: 20 -27 God’s list of events to fulfilled during Daniel’s 70 weeks Daniel 9: 20 -27 20 And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; 21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end

of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 7: 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon the holy Daniel 7: 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon the holy city, 70 weeks = 490 years As mentioned previously, the word 'week' is a Jewish length of time meaning 7 years much like the English word 'decade' means 10 years. Seventy weeks (70 x 7 yrs) would equal 490 years. In Daniel 9: 24 Daniel is told 490 years must run their course concerning the city of Jerusalem, the temple, the Jewish people until all the stated goals listed in Daniel 9: 24 would be fulfilled. However, just as Ezekiel’s time prophecy of 430 years spanned Jeremiah’s 70 years plus an additional 2, 520 years so we will see that between Daniel’s 69 th week and 70 th week a period of about 2000 years will exist that applies to what was a mystery hidden in the Old Testament but what the New Testament teaches is the Church Age. But this truth will be covered when we cover Daniel 7: 26.

Key events during the 70 weeks (Daniel 9: 25 -27) Daniel 9: 25 -27 Key events during the 70 weeks (Daniel 9: 25 -27) Daniel 9: 25 -27 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

From the study of Jeremiah’s 70 years and Ezekiel’s 430 years we know From the study of Jeremiah’s 70 years and Ezekiel’s 430 years we know the Babylonians besieged Jerusalem from about 606 B. C. to 586 B. C. The city, walls, streets and temple built by Solomon were all destroyed. The angel Gabriel now tells Daniel key future events concerning Jerusalem, temple, Jewish people that would transpire before all stated goals of Daniel 9: 24 would be all accomplished. From the above chart note the 70 weeks (490 years) begins with the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, it's streets and walls in troublous times (Daniel 9: 25). The decree most Bible scholars believe was the commandment of restoration is found in Nehemiah 2: 1 -8. The date of this decree is said to be around 445 B. C.

Nehemiah 2: 1 -8 1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, Nehemiah 2: 1 -8 1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. 2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid, 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? 4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. 5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it. 6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him, ) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time. 7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let

letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. Daniel 9: 25 further tells us that from the time of Nehemiah's commandment to the cutting off of the Messiah (death of Christ) would be 69 weeks (483 years). Cutting off of the Messiah is a reference of course to Christ's death. 69 weeks would be (7 yrs x 69) = 483 years. Gabriel further breaks down the 483 years by saying the first seven weeks (49 years) is to restore and rebuild Jerusalem followed by 62 weeks (434 years) to when the Messiah is cut off. The date of this decree is said to be around 445 B. C. If we add 7 weeks (49 years) to rebuild the city to the 62 weeks (434 years) when the Messiah is cut off (Christ's death) we have 49 + 434 = 483 years. Adding this 483 years to 445 B. C. (the date of the decree) would be 483 - 445 = 38 A. D. However, the Jews used a Lunar calendar not a solar calendar – a 360 day year not a 365. 25 day year (see Ezekiel’s 430

years for full understanding and scriptures). Converting 483 yrs to lunar days 483 YRS years for full understanding and scriptures). Converting 483 yrs to lunar days 483 YRS = 483 X 360 DAYS = 173, 880 lunar days Convert 173, 880 lunar days to solar years: divide by 365. 25 = length in solar years 173, 880 / 365. 25 = 476 years rounded

Since there was no 0 year we count backwards from Jan 1, A. D. Since there was no 0 year we count backwards from Jan 1, A. D. to Jan 1, B. C. as 1 year therefore to Jan 1, 445 B. C completes 445 years. Subtract 445 B. C years from 476 years to get A. D. years 476 yrs – 445 A. D. yrs = 31 A. D. years. There was no zero (0) year between 1 B. C. and 1 A. D. . From Jan 1, 1 A. D. to Jan 1, 31 A. D. completes 30 years From Jan 1, 1 A. D. to Jan 1, 32 A. D. completes 31 years

We know Nehemiah’s decree was after Jan 1, 445 B. C. so our We know Nehemiah’s decree was after Jan 1, 445 B. C. so our calculations would come out to sometime in 32 A. D. Jesus the Messiah was foretold to be crucified. Most Bible scholars and secular historians put Christ's death anywhere between 32 - 33 A. D. Daniel's prophecy of the death of Messiah (Christ) therefore was extremely accurate. Daniel 9: 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:

Daniel 9: 26 says that Messiah was cut off but not for Himself. Daniel 9: 26 says that Messiah was cut off but not for Himself. Those that studied the prophetic scriptures in those days should have recognized that Messiah had to die and who always taught that He gave His life to save us from our sins. Yes, Messiah Jesus who knew no sin did not die for Himself but for our sins (2 Corinthians 5: 21, John 10: 11 -18). 2 Corinthians 5: 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. John 10: 11 -18 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life

for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Daniel 9: 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, Daniel 9: 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. the events after the cutting off of Messiah (death of Christ) Daniel 9: 26 tells us is historically absolutely correct. Daniel tells us that a future prince will be from the people that destroyed the city (Jerusalem) and the sanctuary (temple) which were the Romans under Emperor Titus in 70 A. D. In Matt 24, the disciples of Jesus were talking about the

temple (Herod’s) one day with Jesus, and He warns them about it's future destruction temple (Herod’s) one day with Jesus, and He warns them about it's future destruction within their generation. and that the temple will be made desolate and there would not a stone left unturned. Matthew 24: 1, 2 1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Matthew 23: 37, 38 37 O Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest Matthew 23: 37, 38 37 O Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. Following the cutting off of Messiah (Jesus) but not for Himself (Jesus died for us), it is well documented in history that the people that destroyed both the city of Jerusalem and the temple (Herod's for Solomon's temple was destroyed by the Babylonians between 606 B. C. and 586 B. C. ) were the Roman armies led by Titus around 70 A. D. Titus, pronounced TY tuhs (A. D. 41 -81), a Roman emperor, was noted for his generosity and his regard for the people's welfare. He was born in Rome, the oldest son of Emperor Vespasian. Titus served as a military tribune (military leader) in Germany and Britain. He later helped his father put down a revolt by Jews in Palestine that began in A. D. 66. Titus captured Jerusalem in 70 after a long siege. He played a prominent role during his father's reign and succeeded him in 79. The destruction of Pompeii and Herculaneum, when Mount Vesuvius erupted, occurred in the first year of Titus' reign. Daniel 9: 26 Who is the prince to come? The angel Gabriel said this 70 week prophecy centers around the Jews, temple, Jerusalem. This future prince Daniel is told about is the Antichrist? . It is very clear that the future prince to come is Roman. History is very clear that the people that destroyed the city and the sanctuary after Christ died were the Romans under Titus in 70 A. D. The future prince that would come out of a nation within the old Roman Empire land area is just another clear confirmation confirming what both Daniel 7: 8 and Daniel 8: 9 told us about 'the little horn'. Antichrist would arise among the nations within the Old Roman Empire area - East and West Europe in the last days. , Daniel 7 build on Daniel 2, Daniel 8 on Daniel 7, and now Daniel 9 on Daniel 8 (see Daniel main menu for overview). Flood mentioned is a flood of arms Antichrist will use in the middle of the 70 th week and war desolations to the very end.

Daniel 9: 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: Daniel 9: 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. He refers to the future prince of verse 26. The prince is no longer future here in verse 27 because between verse 26 and verse 27 we skipped down to the last week of Daniel's 70 weeks. Remember - Daniel was told 70 weeks (490 years) concerning Jerusalem would pass before the Kingdom of God is established. 69 weeks (483 years) had brought us to the time when Messiah was cut off - that is - when Christ died. Subtracting 69 weeks (when Christ died - cut off) from 70 weeks (when the Kingdom would be fully established) leaves 1 week of years of the 70 weeks - that is 7 years left to be fulfilled after Christ's death (70 -69=1 week(7 years)). 70 weeks – 69 weeks = 1 week 490 yrs - 483 yrs = 7 yrs Since the 70 th week was future after the Messiah was cut off (Christ died – verse 26) there was a gap of time between 69 th week and the 70 th week. What was that gap?

The answer to this gap is very simple. When the Jews rejected Christ The answer to this gap is very simple. When the Jews rejected Christ as their Messiah and He was cut off fulfilling Daniel’s 69 th week (Daniel 9: 26 - crucified ) God then cast aside his dealings with Israel for a time and offered the gentiles the good news of Christ the Messiah as their savior and entrance into the Kingdom of God. The time between God casting aside Israel until He deals with Israel under the law again is call the church age which we are presently in. The Church age was a mystery hidden in the Old Testament but revealed in the new (Romans 11: 25, 26)

Romans 11: 25, 26 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be Romans 11: 25, 26 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Daniel 9: 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: Daniel 9: 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. After the rapture, Antichrist also operates as Satan in the flesh referred to as the beast in Revelations 13 (see Daniel 8 , timeframe 4). When the great Christian tribulation (timeframe 4) that lasts 3 1/2 years after the rapture ends, then God begins dealing with Israel again to accept their Messiah. God will use Antichrist as a tool to accomplish this

with Israel after the church age ends. Now God's representative on earth will be with Israel after the church age ends. Now God's representative on earth will be Israel again. Israel then comes back under the law to fulfill the last 7 years (Timeframe 5 - Daniel's 70 th week) of Daniel. Antichrist as Satan in the flesh wants to be worshipped as God. This has always been his goal and consuming desire. To deceive the world, he now plays the role of being the same God (Jehovah) that made the covenant with Abraham saying the promised land belongs to the Jews (Genesis 15: 18). Genesis 15: 18 18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Daniel 9: 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: Daniel 9: 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. It is never said Israel as a whole makes this treaty with Antichrist but the many mentioned in verse 27 could be a vote like in the U. N. where many other delegates from other nations vote. Daniel 11: 23 says Antichrist becomes strong with a few in Israel. These could be religious or political leaders in Israel that he may make great promises to them for confirming this covenant with him. Daniel 11: 23 23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

Micah 5: 2 -4 The birth of Christ; nation of Israel set aside for Micah 5: 2 -4 The birth of Christ; nation of Israel set aside for a time because they rejected Messiah; the Church Age will run it’s course instead; After the Church Age God will deal with Israel once again to accept Christ as Messiah Micah 5: 2 -4 2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. 3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. 4 And he shall stand feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. Micah 5: 2 is well known as the prophecy that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem as a King whose going forths are from old, from everlasting indicating Jesus was the eternal Son of God.

Micah 5: 2 -4 2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among Micah 5: 2 -4 2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. 'Therefore will he give them up' that is a clear reference to the Jews who rejected him How long are the Jews to be given up? 'until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth' Who is she that will travail and has brought forth. The answer is clearly found in Rev 12. 1 -5. She is the sun-clothed woman of Rev 12: 1 (the professing Church) who after having travailed in pain gives birth to a manchild (the true

confessing Church – the saved in Christ) who are caught up to God’s throne. confessing Church – the saved in Christ) who are caught up to God’s throne. God will not be dealing with Israel again to bring them to Christ until the church age runs its course. God is dealing with Israel today as far as bringing them back into their land returning them back to a covenant relationship with Jehovah first (timeframe 2). After the rapture God deals with them to accept Christ (Daniel's 70 th week).

'the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. ' This speaks of the remnant of Jews (144, 000) after the rapture who accepted Christ in Israel but were not killed by Antichrist. They are sealed for protection during the Day of the Lord (Rev 7: 4 -8) and called firstfruits of saved Israel (Rev 14: 1 -5) and witness for Christ and 7 years later when Christ returns to set up His throne in Jerusalem all Israel will be saved. Rev 7: 4 -8 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there

were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. 5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. 6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. 7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. 8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand. Rev 14: 1 -5 1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

Back to Daniel 9: 27 Daniel 9: 26, 27 and the people of the Back to Daniel 9: 27 Daniel 9: 26, 27 and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. In the midst of the week (7 years) would be about 3 1/2 years from the time the treaty is confirmed that he (Antichrist) causes the temple sacrifice and offerings to stop. For this verse to be fulfilled there will have to be a new temple as the old temple (Herod’s) was destroyed by the Romans under Titus about 70 A. D. (verse 26 above).

Before the rapture there will be a series of prophecies connected with the mass return of the Jews in which the Ark of the Covenant reappears and the temple is rebuilt (see timeframe 2 and timeframe 3 and charts above) and they reinstitute temple sacrifices and offerings.

Antichrist desecrates the temple and commits the abomination of desolation referred by Jesus (Matt 24: 15) and puts an idol of himself in the temple to be worshipped as God. Matt 24: 15 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand: ) Paul tells us Antichrist attempts to show that he is God by sitting in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem (2 Thess 2: 4) 2 Thess 2: 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Antichrist sitting mockingly showing that he is God is him most likely sitting Antichrist sitting mockingly showing that he is God is him most likely sitting between the cherubim's on the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant. This to the Jews was the holiest place and believed to be God's throne on earth and where from time to time God communed with men such as Moses, David, etc, Psalm 99: 1, 2 1 The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved. 2 The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Psalm 80: 1 1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. The temple will remain then under Antichrist's rule till the consummation (all things be fulfilled as told to Daniel by Christ returns). 'That determined ' (verse 27) upon the nations and especially Antichrist's Empire are those judgments written before hand - especially the 7 trumpet/vial judgments of the 'Day of the Lord' which is the same last 7

years as Daniel's 70 th week (chart below - timeframe 5 (Day of the years as Daniel's 70 th week (chart below - timeframe 5 (Day of the Lord). Until Christ returns (Kingdom) and defeats Antichrist and destroys his empire and sets up the everlasting Kingdom of God there will be wars and desolations.
