Deniel Defoe (1660,London-1731,London) Deniel was the son of a hard-working and fairly prosperous candle merchant and a butcher, James Foe. 1683- Defoe decided to start as a merchant. He dealt in many goods , travelled extensively at home and abroad , and, as a result, became an intelligent economic theorist far ahead of his time. However, hard luck often struck his enterprises. He had a difficult life. He said : “No man has tasted different fortunes more! And thirteen times I have been rich and poor”.

1) made immediate plans for food,then shelter, to protect himself from wild animals. 2)brought as many things as possible from the wrecked ship; 3)began to develop talents that he had never used in order to provide himself with necessities. 4)began to communicate with God 5) To keep his sanity and to entertain himself, he began a journal. 6)In the journal, he recorded every task that he performed each day since he had been marooned. His friend Friday Crusoe saved a prisoner’s life, named him Friday, taught him English. Friday soon became Crusoe's humble and devoted slave - They saved Friday's father - By devious means they rescued the captain and two other men The grateful captain gave Crusoe many gifts and took him and Friday back to England.
