Incident 9550 • Crews were called to a Caravan Fire on 19 th May 2005 • Spoken to in a hostile manner • Hydrant proximities • Large amount cylinders laying around
Establishing Contact • Father John Glynn • First visit to the site • Points learned – Very high illiteracy level – Low leaflet success – Stable education
Home Fire Safety Visit • Smoke Alarms – 60% didn’t have a battery fitted – Smoke Alarms with silence button – All details put on post code CM 11 2 YH – Plots given numbers – 235 smoke alarms fitted • Verbal communication of fire safety • Attitude greatly improved • Asking Crews Fire Safety Advice
LPG Cylinders • Cylinders left on the site • Mr Graham Bannister, Basildon Council Environment • Collection Service with Wickford Gas – One on one basis – Leaflet sent out explaining
