Customs day in Ukraine • Customs Service Day is celebrated annually on June 25 at the date of adoption by the Supreme Rada of Ukraine in 1991, the Law on customs in Ukraine.

Not subject to pass through the customs border of Ukraine: • products that can harm the health or threaten the life of the population and animal life or cause serious damage to the environment; • literary and artistic works, printing, and other printed matter, films, photos, audio and video content that promotes war, violence, pornography, racial, ethnic or religious hatred, calling for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order in Ukraine; • goods and personal effects, the omission of which require permits other state institutions, without these permissions. Free import 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars 250 g of tobacco. There are no information on age restrictions • 1 L of spirits (over 25% volume of alcohol) • 2 L of lighter alcohol beverages (up to 25% volume of alcohol) • Non-commercial amount items for personal use up to € 200 of gifts or new items • • Food stuff of up to the value of € 50 in no more than one package weighing 2 kg •

Restricted • • Live animals – health certificate required along with complete and valid inoculations. Contact nearest embassy to obtain permission. Endangered species and any products or parts thereof as outlined by CITES maybe be brought in only with CITES permission. Medication Weapons and ammunition permissible only with authorisation obtainable from Ministry of Interior. Gifts or new items of value exceeding € 200 but not exceeding € 1000 will be evaluated and a customs tax will be levied. Please note that items of value exceeding € 1000 are taxable according to cargo import procedure and not personal import procedure. Cultural artefacts and other culturally important items may be brought in only when accompanied by appropriate documentation confirming your ownership and are not subject of any international investigation. Currency of value up to € 10, 000 can be declared orally, amounts that exceeds that limit must be declared in writing and have to have supplementary documentation confirming that the money had been withdrawn from legitimate source.

Prohibited to export from Ukraine: • Objects (goods) which require state warrant, except for personal belongings; • Precious metals, stones and their produce, cultural valuables with a purpose of sale; • Strong, poisonous, radioactive, explosive substances, other objects that can harm the population and animals or contaminate the environment; • Objects (goods) that require veterinary, ecological, sanitary or phitosanitary testing are allowed only after passing such testing at the correspondent station.

Objects prohibited to transit through the customs territory of Ukraine: • Arms and ammunition of all types, military equipment; • Flying devices, their parts and equipment; • Machines and presses used to produce arms and ammunition of all types, flying devices and their parts; • Narcotic substances; • Radioactive objects and substances; • Strong, poisonous, radioactive, explosive substances, other objects that can harm the population and animals or contaminate the environment; • Objects (goods) that are prohibited to import into Ukraine by the Ukrainian legislature.
