Hi! I would like to tell about Russiasachevements in space research.

They are connected with the name of Sergey Korolyov.

He was the head Soviet rocket engineer.

He greatly contributed to the early successes of the Sputnik and Vostok projects.

Sputnik 1 was launched on october 4, 1957. It carried only a simple radio transmittter. It burned up.

Sputnik 2 carried the first living passenger, a dog named Laika. It was the first space casuatly. Laika didn t come back.

Sputnik 3 carried a large array of instrument for geophysical research.

Sputnik 5 carried the dogs Belka and Strelka, 40 mice, 2 rats and a veriety of plants on board. All the animals were recovered safely.

Sputnik led to the creation of NASA and major in creases in in US Gaverment spending on scientific research and education.

The mission of Soyuz-Apollon was the beginning of the space project between Russia and America.

On April 12, 1961 Yuri Gagarin flew into space and spent 108 minuts there. It was one of the th greatest events of the 20 century. We are proud of this man in our time too.

Today we cannot imagine our life without satellite. All kinds of communication transmitted by satellite. Rockets with its statistics and history is noteworthy.
